Dr. Brahm Solomon completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University of Ottawa and his residency at University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital (Psychosocial Oncology Program, Pain Medicine Unit).

Dr. Solomon offers assessment, therapy, and consultation services to adults and couples contending with a range of challenges related to adjustment to significant life events and transitions, anxiety, depression, end-of-life considerations, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, post-traumatic stress, and treatment adherence.

Dr. Solomon’s emphasis on the importance of mental health in addressing and promoting medical health and rehabilitation has led him to engage in training in a variety of clinic and hospital based settings, covering acute, chronic, and terminal illnesses, including: Montfort Hospital (cardiac, diabetes, Family Medicine Unit, pulmonary, renal, treatment adherence) and The Ottawa Hospital (Chronic Pain Management Program, Pain Medicine Unit, Palliative Care, Psychological Consultation Services for Inpatients, Psychosocial Oncology Program, Sleep Disorders Program).

While Dr. Solomon emphasizes an experiential (i.e., emotion-focused, mindfulness-based) approach to therapy, integrated within interpersonal and systems frameworks, he is also able to draw on cognitive-behavioural techniques. His special clinical and research interests in working with individuals with terminal illness have led him to become well versed in end-of-life and existential considerations and approaches, such as acceptance and commitment therapy, dignity therapy, and meaning-making.

Dr. Solomon is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and Ontario Psychological Association, and is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with declared competencies in Clinical, Counselling, Health, and Rehabilitation Psychology, and is registered to offer services to adults and couples.
