Dr. Loretta Patterson completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University (a Canadian Psychological Association accredited doctoral program). She has been registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since June 2016.

Dr. Patterson provides psychotherapy and assessment services to children, adolescents, adults and couples.

Dr. Patterson has had clinical experience with children, adolescents, and adults across inpatient, outpatient, school, and private practice settings. As well, she has gained experience in health psychology settings (for example, working with hospital patients in cancer and bariatrics programs). This extensive training has provided her with a broad multi-cultural experience, which further enhances her ability to assess and treat a wide variety of individuals and problems.

Dr. Patterson’s training has been in evidence-based practice and her primary theoretical orientation is cognitive-behavioural, including exposure and response prevention therapy. Additional training in other therapeutic methods such as dialectical-behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness, have also enhanced her skill set. She uses established and effective techniques as the foundation for her clinical approach to treatment, and integrates current research findings as needed.
